Alphaland seeks more BPO tenants

MANILA, Philippines ? Property developer Alphaland Corp. is poised to attract more business process outsourcing clients, following the decision of BPO firms Rainmaker Asia Inc. and Teleperformance to set up their regional hubs at one of the company?s buildings.

Rainmaker and Teleperformance now hold fort at the Alphaland Southgate Tower, a 20-story building along Edsa and Chino Roces Avenue Extension in Makati City.

The strategic location of the building, being situated on a busy thoroughfare and immediately accessible via the Edsa Metro Rail Transit 3, made it an ideal location for BPO firms.

?The location and accessibility were perfect for our needs,? Rainmaker vice president for Asia-Pacific operations Andrew Sarakinis said.

Teleperformance managing director Dave Rizzo added: ?It was the ideal setting for our regional office, primarily due to the location and direct access to the Metro Rail Transit.?

Also, since the building was recognized as an information technology zone by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, tenants also got to experience perks that went with PEZA accreditation.

Alphaland president Mario Oreta said the decision of the two BPO firms to set up their regional hubs at the Southgate Tower showed that a building need not be located within the central business district (CBD) to be competitive.

He said the relatively new building, Alphaland?s first office building, actually trumped many other buildings in the Makati, Ortigas, and Taguig CBDs, from which Rainmaker and Teleperformance chose their new locations.

?We are delighted to have been chosen by two well established BPOs as the site for their expansion of operations in the country,? he said.

Apart from the Southgate Tower, Alphaland is now putting up a 10,000-square-meter, three-tower residential-hotel on Ayala Avenue.

The project is targeted for completion next year.
