BCDA revs up road projects in New Clark City

BCDA is fast-tracking infrastructure development at New Clark City

MANILA, Philippines – The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is ramping up its infrastructure push in New Clark City, aiming to complete nearly 60 kilometers (km) of roads by the end of this year.

The BCDA on Tuesday said that road and underground utility construction will expand New Clark City’s road network to 57.18 km by the end of 2025.

This accounts for roughly 40 percent of the planned 148.44-km total road length across the development.

“One of the main elements that make Clark so attractive to investors is its unmatched connectivity, supported by its own international airport, a nearby seaport, and major expressways,” said Joshua Bingcang, president and CEO of BCDA.

“But we need to further build on this connectivity and invest more on infrastructure. By doing this, we can create the scale to make us more competitive against our neighbors and elevate New Clark City’s position as a premier investment hub,” he said in a statement.

The BCDA said the city’s road projects are designed to be multifunctional, with multiple lanes complemented by pedestrian and bicycle paths, solar-powered street lights, linear parks, and robust drainage and slope protection systems.

These features aim to provide seamless access to New Clark City’s institutional, residential, and mixed-use zones, it added.

Further, the BCDA said that it is laying underground utility corridors to future-proof the city and support locators’ evolving demands.

As of November 2024, the government-owned and controlled corporation said it had completed 41.48 km of roads. INQ
