The illicit trade of goods persistently puts a dent on the Philippine economy and studies show that contraband fuel has the worst impact on our nation’s accounts, especially in terms of lost jobs and foregone income for households. Certainly, this problem is not unique to the Philippines, but there is global attention on how the government is addressing fuel smuggling.
