Globe Telecom and Puregold introduce grocery shoppers to the new scan-and-pay app ‘SALLY’
Given the fast-paced nature of the metro, it’s difficult for many of us, working individuals, to find time out in the day to accomplish our household duties. Whether that’d be doing our laundry or buying groceries for the week, many of us find it difficult to balance the demands of work with our personal errands. But what if there was a way to lessen the load–particularly with regards to grocery shopping?
Well, thanks to the new Puregold Mobile App–which was developed by Puregold and powered by Globe Telecom–busybodies can now purchase their grocery items online and pick it up through a special counter at one of the Puregold supermarkets.

Regarding this partnership, Globe President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ernest Cu says, “We are happy to collaborate with the country’s most digitally advanced and well-known grocery brand in co-developing an app that enables customers to maximize mobile connectivity in doing basic and essential everyday things with utmost convenience.”
How does it work?
The Puregold Mobile App, which is also known as the shopper’s ally or “SALLY”, has a special feature that allows customers to scan the barcode of the items they want to buy and checkout online. Thereby, eliminating the need for long checkout lines and creating a more convenient and hassle-free grocery shopping experience.
This service was created to provide customers with a better and faster way of getting their shopping done.
“When it comes to grocery shopping, Puregold believes there is always a better, more ‘panalo’ way,” Puregold Vice President of Operations Antonio De Los Santos said during the app’s launch last January 31.
Moreover, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) can also benefit from purchasing through the app as it’s programmed with an ‘Order History’ feature. This allows business owners the convenience of re-ordering the item without rescanning the bar code.
How can customers pay for their groceries?
There are a variety of ways customers can pay for their purchased items. Among them is through the use of credit/debit cards or GCash. They may also choose to pay cash at the counter when they pick up their items.
Regarded as the “future of grocery shopping” by De Los Santos, the Puregold Mobile App “SALLY” will definitely innovate and revolutionize the way customers shop for items.
The Puregold Mobile App “SALLY” is now available for download in Google Play (for Android users) and the App Store (for iPhone users).
