New boutique hotel for travelers
I used to think of Alabang as a sleepy town, kind of like a place where parents live in retirement haven. Not anymore. The development of the city is amazing, especially in the hotel sector.
I was just at the launch of Azumi Boutique Hotel, and it is clear this is not your father’s Oldsmobile, so to speak. Azumi’s goal is to create a hotel that’s in tune with the modern traveler, one that is not only stylish and environment-friendly, but also focused on providing things that are really essential and meaningful. What they got is a quality hotel at an outstanding value.
The lobby is framed with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, rendering warmth and accenting the spaciousness that defines Azumi’s elegant living spaces. The natural light illuminates an array of books, photos and cozy furnishings to welcome guests to Azumi.
Azumi has 187 rooms, each characterized by use of earth tones with a distinct pop of orange and wood laminate floors. Once again there are floor-to-ceiling glass doors, which emphasize the openness and modernity of the entire design, and provide an unparalleled view of the city.
The roof deck is a sensory escape with its 360-degree view of the Alabang skyline. Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets serve as a backdrop while enjoying a dip in the infinity lap pool or a drink by the lounge beds. The rooftop function room and villa are the perfect venue for social or corporate events.

The three-dimensional look of the walls is achieved with Ecocarat, a “breathing tile” made of natural raw materials specifically designed to absorb humidity, foul odors and harmful substances.

Kibu’s avant-garde showroom was designed by Noel Bernardo and reminds me of a chic art gallery with its minimalist design. Check it out at 347 Ortigas Ave. in Greenhills East.
The Azumi Boutique Hotel also has several high-tech innovations. They use Daiken Healthy Ceiling, which generates the same air quality found in large parks, keeping guests feeling refreshed indoors. PSE- and ISO-certified Noatek LED lights are also used to conserve energy as part of the hotel’s environmental thrust.
On the food front, Azumi has a branch of the iconic Romulo Café at the hotel lobby. Adjacent thereto is Nail Spa, a chic salon for that much-needed picker upper. The hotel is managed by Hospitality Innovators, one of the leading management companies in the hospitality industry, with 15 years of reimagining and transforming the management and operation of hotels, condormitels, resorts, condominiums and serviced residences.
Azumi is located within the Madrigal Business Park, making it convenient for business and leisure travelers. The Alabang Town Center and Molito Mall are but a short walk away. Which is a wonderful segue to the fact that a huge Wilcon Depot has just opened close to Azumi. Wilcon is the leading one-stop shop for all building and home furnishing needs.
Aside from providing all several building materials options and expert service and delivery, Wilcon is launching a yearlong promo starting March 11. Dubbed the “Dream Big and Win Big” promo, the chain is giving away five Mercedes-Benz sedans and hundreds of gift certificates via a bimonthly raffle. The first one is coming up, so start shopping at Wilcon Depot!
