The town of Binmaley in eastern Pangasinan lies near the capital of Lingayen Gulf, surrounded by 16 rivers and fishpens. In fact, three quarters of the town are wetlands, brimming with bounty from the sea, rivers and fishpens.
Bangus (milkfish) produced in this city and some Pangasinan towns will finally get a “brand” after concerned agencies committed their participation in the bangus branding program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
On a good day, Leticia Flores sells at least 700 pieces of tupig (grilled powdered glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves) from her stall near the town hall here.
