Sales of pre-need plans from January to October fell 20.8 percent to P12.7 billion from P16.05 billion in the same period last year, data from the Securities and Exchange Commission showed.
Sales of education plans dropped 51.8 percent to P1.59 billion P3.3 billion. Education plans accounted for 12.5 percent of total sales.
Pension plans fell 35.4 percent to P6.119 billion from P9.48 billion. They were 48 percent of total sales for the period.
Life plans, accounting for 39.3 percent of total sales, jumped 53 percent to P5.0 billion from P3.26 billion.
In October, pre-need plan sales dropped 21 percent to P989.8 million from P1.25 billion a year earlier.
Life plans, accounting for 55 percent of total sales in October, jumped 61 percent to P545 million from P338 million. Pension plans dropped 36 percent to P383.66 million from P600.69 million, accounting for 38.75 percent of total sales.
Education plans dropped 80.5 percent to P61.117 million in October from P313.776 million a year earlier. They accounted for 6.17 percent of total sales. Edited by INQUIRER.net
