MANILA, Philippines-- Philippine share prices closed 0.34 percent lower Wednesday, taking cues from other Asian bourses following overnight losses on Wall Street, dealers said.
The composite index lost 10.36 points to 3,064.30, while the all shares index shed 0.39 percent or 7.51 points to 1,901.94.
Turnover reached 2.93 billion shares worth 3.01 billion pesos (64.22 million dollars) as 63 issues fell, 37 rose and 63 ended unchanged.
The peso traded at 46.871 to the dollar in the morning.
"We'll continue to trade along with other markets. There is nothing spectacular happening locally to justify a move away from the pack," Ricardo Puig of ATR-Kim Eng Securities told Dow Jones Newswires.
Property firm Megaworld was down 2.74 percent to 1.42 pesos with its holding firm Alliance Global Group off 1.15 percent to 4.30 pesos.
Miners led gains with Century Peak Metal Holdings up 4.69 percent to 6.70 pesos and Philex Mining adding 1.32 percent to 19.25 pesos.
