MANILA, Philippines—JPMorgan Chase & Co., the leading global financial services firm, donated a total of $672,782 or approximately P32.3 million to its own employees and various organizations, including the Philippine National Red Cross, World Vision International and Habitat for Humanity to assist in recovery and relief operations for flood victims of Typhoons “Ondoy” and “Pepeng.”
The firm also responded immediately to the crisis by raising cash through local and regional fund-raising campaigns. It mobilized staff to act as volunteers in emergency assistance activities such as packaging of supplies and relief goods, and distribution of these basic necessities to areas most affected. This was done in partnership with various charitable institutions.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its affiliate, the JPMorgan Foundation, provided financial aid to victims and colleagues who had lost homes and belongings through an account that was set up to accept donations from the firm’s global offices. Counseling and other services were also provided to the local staff through the Employee Assistance Program.
