Tokyo stocks up 0.63% by break

TOKYO–Tokyo stocks rose 0.63 percent on Friday morning, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street and on Europe’s main bourses.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 57.18 points to 9,149.94 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.46 percent, or 3.49 points, to 762.61.
