MANILA, Philippines – Beginning August, domestic air travelers will be spared one step in the boarding process—having to queue at local airport counters to pay the passenger users charge or, more familiarly, the terminal fee.

According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the P200 terminal fee will be incorporated into the cost of a domestic airplane ticket beginning Aug. 1.

“The MIAA and local airlines have agreed to integrate the terminal fee in the cost of the plane ticket for domestic destinations in a bid to minimize the hassle for departing passengers who have to go through several checkpoints before boarding their flights,” said MIAA General Manager Jose Angel Honrado.
