GSIS pensioners to get cash gift beginning Dec. 6
More than 328,000 qualified pensioners of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will get their Christmas gift—up to P10,000 in cash each—starting December 6.
The cash gift for seniors and those with disability is equivalent to a pensioner’s monthly benefit. GSIS will disburse a total of P3.35 billion.
“We know that pensioners are anticipating the Christmas cash gift and this will make their Christmas merry,” GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso said in a statement.
“So starting Dec. 6, the cash gift would have been credited to their e-card and they [pensioners] can withdraw [from ATMs],” Veloso added.
Pension benefits from the GSIS may be withdrawn from any Bancnet, Megalink or Expressnet ATMs worldwide, according to the fund’s website.

In particular, these are the pensioners who availed of the five-year lump sum benefit and who resumed their regular monthly pensions after Dec 31, 2021, members who separated from the service from 2006 to 2022 before reaching the age of 60 and who started receiving their regular monthly pension from 2018 onward, and those who have been regular pensioners for at least five years.
Meanwhile, old-age and disability pensioners who are on suspended status due to non-compliance with the Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) will also receive the cash gift after they have reactivated their status.
