Global Threat of Substandard Mask Amidst Pandemic

To avoid counterfeit and substandard items, the Local Government Association of the United Kingdom advised consumers to “only buy goods from well-known and trusted retailers, and are being reminded that anyone using pressure tactics to sell goods or services is unlikely to be genuine.” Dr. Ariane Davison in the article published on Hong Kong Free Press also reiterated to choose “quality masks that offer trusted protection are approved and verified by international regulatory bodies (such as ASTM, FDA, NIOSH, or in the Philippines, In the Philippines, the Food and Drug Administration) and will have respective certification codes on the packaging.”
