MACE makes it all convenient
Health is wealth. Oddly enough, it seems easy for us to put off seeing a doctor, whether to seek consultation for a discomfort we have been feeling, or simply for a general checkup.
We blame it on the hassle of going out of the house or taking a leave from work just to queue for a request for consultation, or the lack of information whether this dentist, that doctor or this hospital is covered by our health insurance provider.
Medicard Philippines Inc. now has another convenient way to provide healthcare access to its members anytime and anywhere. The Medicard Access Express (MACE) app utilizes mobile technology so one can easily access Medicard’s roster of healthcare services.
The free mobile app is available for download on Google Play Store and iOS. It is designed to be a more advanced replacement of the Medicard Online Settlement System (MOSS) which was previously used to automate the provision of healthcare services in accredited hospitals and clinics.
MACE features
With MACE, Medicard members can now view information about their health plan, register their dependents, request for consultation, generate a letter of approval for lab tests, view their utilization and search for accredited dentists, doctors, and clinics and hospitals. One can also view Medicard Perks through the app.
Signing up for a MACE account is easy peasy. After downloading the app, all you have to do is fill in the required fields with your Medicard member code, date of birth, username, password and email address. After registering, you will be asked to log into your account. Once logged in, you can view your Medicard account status, member type, effectivity date, validity date, and plan and limits.
Your MACE account comes with a QR code which, when scanned by a Medicard accredited clinic or hospital, can immediately allow access to information on your requests.
The app further allows you to register your dependents under your account. This lets you view details of your dependents’ Medicard accounts.
Through MACE, Medicard members can now request for a consultation with a doctor anytime. Members requesting for a consultation will be asked to enter their preferred Medicard-accredited clinic or hospital, preferred Medicard-accredited doctor, as well as the reason for the consultation being sought.
Upon completion of the form, a QR code and reference number will be generated for the request. The requesting Medicard member can either download the consultation form and print it out to give to the doctor upon visit, or simply show the generated QR code to the Medicard clinic/referral desk or coordinator for issuance of consultation form. Approval for consults are immediately and automatically performed through the app, allowing you to attend to other items that matter to you.
Improved experience
Aside from providing members with a list of Medicard-accredited dentists, doctors, hospitals and clinics, MACE allows you to view Medicard’s list of partner hotels, restaurants and other establishments that offer perks and discounts to Medicard members.
With MACE, Medicard is aiming for an improved patient experience. The app is connected throughout the Medicard ecosystem to deliver high quality care for its members.
