AWI and Scottsdale introduces ‘Dam Easy Flood Barriers’ to PH

Partnering companies believe the Philippines is a strong market for a revolutionary flood protection product

In 2015, the Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED EM-DAT) of Belgium showed that the Philippines experienced a staggering P28.43 billion economic losses due to flooding, hence, businesses were adversely affected with this kind of calamity.  

With this, the All Weather Industries (AWI) partnered with Scottsdale Corporation had launched the Dam Easy Flood Barriers last June 18. The Scottsdale Corporation will serve as the distributor of this flood solution in the Philippines.  

According to AWI CEO and co-founder Brian Mooney, “Dam Easy is a unique patented Irish design, being the first barrier with a unique pneumatic seal requiring no tools or fixings or sealant to install. These barriers which are made of recyclable, high performance and impact-resistant ABS plastic have gone through rigorous certification in Germany.”

Packed in reusable bags, they can be easily installed to their full width in a span of four minutes. It can be installed in 3 easy steps by positioning first your door reveal, then extend the side panels and inflate the seal.

Dam Easy Flood Barriers has proved its effectiveness to residential flooding areas it initially serviced, Scottsdale President Cheriza Manalang said the company’s growing clientele now includes commercial establishments. The growing clientele that availed of the protection provided by Dam Easy Flood Barriers also included business establishments that suffer considerable losses as a result of flooding.
