SCTEX undergoes improvements ahead of rainy season
Toll road operator NLEX Corp. is spending over P150 million to repair bridges and repave sections of the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) in Central Luzon.
NLEX Corp., a unit of Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Metro Pacific Investments Corp., said the activities were part of enhancement initiatives at the 94-kilometer SCTEx.
According to the company, repair is underway for the slope protection of Pinulot, Loakan and Cui river bridges in Dinalupihan, Bataan. These projects will help prevent structures from scouring and erosion ahead of the rainy season.
This year’s pavement repair program on the 38 lane km of SCTEx is also ongoing.
The pavement repairs, which involve light patching works and asphalt overlays, cover both directions of the SCTEx from Tarlac to Tipo including the Subic Freeport Expressway.
The same program is also being done at the 40 lane km of NLEX from Balintawak to Sta. Ines.
