Proventa International convenes PH businesses for DX
– It’s 2018, and yet it is still confusing to fully grasp what digital transformation (DX) is. Is it the company’s presence on social media? Is it the goal to strive for a paperless organization? Or is it the journey of businesses taking on various digital challenges?
To shed light on the topic, London-based management consultancy firm Proventa International organized the second Digital Transformation Strategy Meeting in the Philippines — a highly digital country in terms of social media.
However, at this year’s strategy meeting held at Marriott Grand Ballroom, 120 top companies have concluded that while social media is important to their businesses, DX means a lot more than that.
According to these business leaders, DX is the complex transformation of all activities, processes, and competencies that impact an organization towards a streamlined and future-proof state. Different business components namely I.T., marketing, operations, human resources, administration, customer service, etc. must work together to achieve the optimum integration that a company aims for.
Furthermore, its execution differs based on a company’s priorities, challenges, opportunities, andecosystem. It is also important to note that external factors such as economic realities, societal changes, and market behavior affect the overall metamorphosis.
“We think it’s high time to discuss DX on a definitive level,” said Leo Empuerto, Co-founder and Managing Director of Proventa International. “Gathering top decision-makers to talk about challenges and opportunities is always a productive way to create solutions.”
Digitize and strategize
Proventa International’s strategy meetings aim to help businesses from all over the world form strategic partnerships and bring forth quality business-to-business solutions. For the Digital Transformation Strategy Meeting, challenges and opportunities in the field of Big Data & Analytics, AI & Learning Machine, IoT, Cloud & Mobile Technologies, Developmental Operations, and Cybersecurity were talked about.
“It’s nice to have the main players in different industries – from government and academe to private institutions – gathered in one venue to discuss important subjects,” said Dennis Crimen, Head of Information and Communications Technology, Air Asia Philippines. “At the end of the day, you’ll surely have helpful takeaways for your own organization.”
“We wanted the discussions to focus mainly on reshaping, leveraging and enhancing their business models, operational improvements and customer experience using digital strategy,” said Empuerto.
According to Empuerto, apart from keeping oneself learned and adaptable, meeting the right business partner is crucial to undergoing evolution such as DX. “Yes, businesses must digitize but we should never forget to strategize first.”
Business leaders from different fields expressed their gratitude for gathering them in one large meeting.
“I attended the roundtable discussion on DevOps with little insight in mind,” said Phoenix Petroleum AVP for IT Alfred Reyes. “But now that I know how other companies combine cultural thoughts, practices, and tools to expedite DX, it helps me to come up with my own plan, too.”
Proventa International plans to bring more strategy meetings to the Philippines. In 11th of April 2019, the firm is holding the 2nd HR Leaders Strategy Meeting at Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay to discuss the evolving world of work and more.
