SMEG Philippines launches flagship store at Park Terraces in Makati
With the kitchen being the new central living hub of a home, more emphasis is now being put on designing kitchen cabinets and choosing the perfect appliances. Among the different brands in the retail kitchen appliances market, SMEG is one of the top names incorporating technology and style into every product. SMEG stands for Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, or Enamel Works from Guastalla Emilia.
Last week, SMEG Philippines launched its flagship store at the Park Terraces in Makati. SMEG president Ton Concepcion stressed in his speech during the event: “The new Park Terraces store is representative of our brand’s move into the lifestyle space. We are not just here to sell kitchen appliances, we are here to bring out the best in food, to bring people together, and to make dream spaces a reality.”
At the successful opening with media and foodies enjoying the impressive visual display of the SMEG units, Ton revealed that the beautiful thing about their SMEG appliances is that they are creations of technology and style. He said that any chef could attest to that claim and cooking is indeed a pleasure using their products. SMEG line includes free-standing cookers, range hoods, dishwashers, grills, gas hobs, coffee makers and toaster ovens aside from its iconic refrigerators.
Dining selections for guests of the event were freshly prepared during live cooking demos using Nutraease cooking ware, demonstrating both the technology of the SMEG appliances, and the functionality of the Park Terraces store.
Lifestyle magazine
Complementing SMEG’s transition into a lifestyle brand is the launch of its lifestyle magazine, Stile de Vita. Featuring real life SMEG users and their passion for cooking, the maiden issue features SMEG ambassador, master chef Cyrille Soenen who worked at the Intercontinental Hotel Manila. He was the head chef of the Prince Albert Rotisserie, a dining institution in the Philippines. Owner of Cicou and currently the head chef of Impression at Resorts World, chef Cyrille graced the event as their honored guest.
