MANILA, Philippines – The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) placed the Visayas grid under yellow alert status on Tuesday due to the unexpected shutdown of three power plants amid higher demand.

In an advisory, the grid operator said the Visayas would be under yellow alert from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., revising its earlier advisory that placed the alert status from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
