Phinma weighed down by construction, property businesses

MANILA, Philippines — Conglomerate Phinma Corp. swung to a P308.83-million net loss attributable to equity holders of the parent in 2025, even as revenues rose on the strong performance of its education business.

In a disclosure on Wednesday, the company led by Ramon de Rosario Jr. said consolidated revenues had reached P22.84 billion last year, while consolidated net income stood at P326.65 million.

Capital expenditures rose to P5 billion in 2025, up from P3.14 billion a year earlier, as the conglomerate funded projects across its construction materials, property and hospitality units.

Its education arm remained a key growth driver, booking P7.19 billion in revenues and P1.61 billion in net income, supported by a record enrollment of 177,851 students in the Philippines and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the construction materials group posted P13.33 billion in revenues but a P265.38-million net loss, while the property unit recorded a P646.56-million loss amid a slowdown in the Metro Manila real estate market.

The hospitality unit generated P527.33 million in revenues and logged a P17.94-million net loss, weighed down by weak tourist arrivals and ongoing expansion activities. /dda
