In a systems advisory, the BDO cited volume usage as the cause of the sudden inaccessibility.

“The Bank has been experiencing ever-increasing volume usage in our digital channels and [has] taken steps to adjust,” BDO said.

“Today’s volume has been substantially higher than the normal peak levels,” it added.

The downtime is being experienced right on payday, and a day before the annual observance of “Undas.”

BDO then assured its users that it is already in the process of upgrading to a new digital banking platform, urging users to bear with them as they migrate to the new application.
