Last October 23, 2024, Lahon Steak Bar officially made its fiery debut in Camiguin, transforming the island’s culinary landscape with a grand opening that brought together the province’s most esteemed figures and distinguished guests. The evening, marked by an unforgettable blend of tradition and modernity, heralded a dining experience unlike any other in the region.

Gracing the event were prominent guests from the local government unit (LGU) of Camiguin, including Congressman Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo, Governor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo and his wife Ms. Ria C. Romualdo, Mr. Yves Dann Romualdo from the Department of Tourism, and Poblacion Mambajao Chairman Mr. Peter Dan Romualdo. Adding an air of glamour, past winners from the Mister and Miss International pageants also attended, lending star power to the night.

Leading the launch from Araw Hospitality Group were CEO Mr. Jean Henri Lhuillier and COO Mr. Corny Caedo, whose combined leadership promises to revolutionize Camiguin’s dining scene. The program was masterfully hosted by Berjayneth Chee, Ms. Chinatown Philippines 2022 and Ms. Earth Philippines Water 2018, who brought charm and elegance to the event, enhancing the evening’s prestige.

The celebration began with an impressive performance by students from Yumbing National High School, featuring a lively drum and lyre ensemble accompanied by dazzling majorettes. As the rhythmic beats reverberated, a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mr. Lhuillier and Congressman Romualdo officially marked the opening of Lahon, ushering in a new era. A mesmerizing fire dance followed, symbolizing the transformative power of Lalahon—the goddess of volcanoes, harvest, and fire—from whom the steak bar draws its inspiration.

Setting the night’s rhythm, DJs Lance and RB, along with saxophonist Philip, entertained guests with a seamless mix of music, creating a perfect ambiance for an unforgettable evening. As the night unfolded, the atmosphere shifted from a sophisticated opening to an exciting celebration, embodying Lahon’s dual personality as a refined steakhouse by day and a lively bar after 8 PM.

Lahon Steak Bar is more than just a restaurant. It is a bold reimagining of dining on Camiguin, inspired by the fierce yet nurturing spirit of the goddess Lalahon. Designed to evoke a familiar neighborhood steakhouse, Lahon invites guests to indulge in elevated flavors without pretension. Here, dining embraces contrasts—refined yet approachable, fiery yet welcoming—mirroring Camiguin’s own balance between untamed nature and warm hospitality.
