Sky Cable beefing up operations with Converge network
Sky Cable Corp. is set to scale up its business with the help of Converge ICT Solutions Inc.’s fiber network that stretches 700,000 kilometers across the country and reaches 16 million homes.
On Monday, the ABS-CBN Corp. subsidiary and the broadband service provider led by Pampanga-based businessman Dennis Uy announced they had inked a commercial agreement that is expected to mutually benefit both parties.

“Through the arrangement with Converge, we expect Sky and its subscribers to benefit from the world-class fiber network that Converge has built over the last few years,” Sky president and chief operations officer Claudia Suarez said.
“This will be a revenue boost for Converge consistent with similar arrangements with other players as we are able to continue to monetize further our excess network capacity,” Converge president and co-founder Maria Grace Uy added.
Earlier this year, Sky was about to sell its broadband business and related assets to PLDT Inc. under a P6.75-billion deal. But both parties decided to terminate the contract without providing specific reasons.
