Celebrating its 20th milestone year, SAFC – one of the leading and fast-growing non-bank financial institutions in the Philippines – is thrilled to announce a significant partnership with Pasig City Government. This collaboration focuses on aligning the community development programs of SAFC Heroes, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, to its local community. This alliance cements SAFC’s dedication to giving back and shaping a brighter future for the Filipino community – a testament of SAFC’s commitment of making Filipinos’ lives better.

Over the past twenty years, SAFC has been unwavering in its commitment: making Filipinos’ lives better. By aligning with organizations that echo our spirit of compassion and progress, we are reinforcing our commitment to driving impactful change which gave birth to, SAFC Heroes. Just this year, through the efforts of SAFC in collaboration with the Pasig City Government, SAFC was able to donate 150 school supplies and 150 medicine kits for Pasigueños, participate in Pasig City’s Tree Planting Activity where SAFC employees planted 100 trees and donated shovels and trowels to Pasig City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), and helped 55 at-risk Children of Special Protection (CNSP) by initiating a community outreach program at Bahay Aruga – Rescue Center and Barangay Sto. Tomas Pasig City.

Over the past twenty years, SAFC has remained steadfast in its mission of improving the lives of Filipinos. Through our enduring commitment to meaningful change, we’ve forged partnerships with organizations that share our values of compassion and progress, giving birth to the SAFC Heroes initiative. Just this year, through the efforts of SAFC in collaboration with the Pasig City Government, we’ve made significant strides, including the donation of 150 school supplies and 150 medicine kits to the people of Pasig. We’ve also actively participated in the city’s Tree Planting Activity, where our dedicated SAFC employees planted 100 trees and donated shovels and trowels to the Pasig City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO). Furthermore, our efforts have reached 55 at-risk Children of Special Protection (CNSP) through a community outreach program at Bahay Aruga – Rescue Center and Barangay Sto. Tomas in Pasig City. In line with our ongoing commitment to the community’s well-being, our current project involves a one-day basketball and volleyball league spanning eight barangays in Pasig City. This initiative underscores our dedication to promoting physical fitness, fostering community engagement, and igniting the spirit of friendly competition for a healthier and more vibrant Pasig City. Together, we continue to be the catalyst for positive change in the lives of Pasigueños.

During our momentous 20th-anniversary celebration at Marco Polo Ortigas, a standout feature was the presentation of specially crafted “Love Hero Tokens.” To show our commitment on making Filipinos’ lives better, SAFC reached out to two esteemed foundations – Tahanang Walang Hagdan and KILUS (Kababaihang Iisa ang Layuning Umunlad ang Sambayanan) Foundation – for the tokens.

Councilor Maro Martires officially presented the Love Hero Token to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, extending his endorsement and support for this meaningful initiative.

The recycled bags generously provided by KILUS Foundation not only empower the women of Barangay Ugong in Pasig by supporting their livelihoods but also promote the principles of a circular economy. Nestled within these bags are exquisite wooden items meticulously crafted by Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) or the orthopedically handicapped individuals from Tahanang Walang Hagdan. These items stand as powerful symbols of the strides SAFC is making towards a more eco-conscious and radiant future.

SAFC is delighted to emphasize that these Love Hero Tokens are not merely tokens of gratitude but living testaments to our unwavering dedication to sustainable living. They transcend mere gifts; they are profound representations of the values and principles we hold dear.

“Through the collective efforts of our dedicated employees and in synergy with the Pasig City Government, we have been able to make strides in community development and outreach,” stated Joel C. Cruz, President and Managing Director at SAFC. “Institutions like Tahanang Walang Hagdan and KILUS Foundation have always been champions in their respective fields. Their dedication to empowering the orthopedically handicapped and advocating for sustainable practices resonates with our mission. As we look back on our 20-year journey, we’re filled with gratitude for these collaborations and partnerships that have made our commitment to the Filipino community even more impactful. Our 20th anniversary is not just a celebration of our past but a promise of an even brighter future, two decades and beyond of enhancing the lives of Filipinos.”

The vibrant celebration held at Marco Polo Ortigas last October 12 was further elevated by the distinguished presence of Pasig City Councilor Marion Rosalio “Maro” M. Martires. Councilor Martires has consistently championed the cause of SAFC Heroes, specifically in the realms of sports, wellness, community development, and environmental initiatives. His attendance symbolizes the strong synergy between local governance and private enterprises, working in unison to uplift the well-being of all Filipinos.

(“SAFC has undertaken many projects in Pasig City that often go unnoticed. Upon my visit here, I saw the magnitude of SAFC’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. So, I am thankful to SAFC for addressing crucial programs and projects that require immediate attention.”) This sentiment underscores the profound impact of SAFC’s initiatives and the significance of their partnership with dedicated leaders like Pasig City’s Mayor Vico Sotto and Councilor Maro Martires.

Further adding vibrancy to the celebration was our charismatic Brand Ambassador, Comedian Alex Calleja. Alex has consistently infused joy into our events, reminding us that amidst our earnest endeavors, a dose of laughter goes a long way in touching lives.

Esteemed bank partners and representatives who have walked with us from our humble beginnings also marked their presence, showcasing a united front committed to a vision that transcends business norms. This alliance, centered around enriching lives and fostering community growth, is just the beginning.

As SAFC propels forward, our guiding principles of innovation, sustainability, and unwavering service remain intact. Beyond being a beacon in the financial sector, we aim to be catalysts of change in every community we touch. Two decades down, and the journey of making impactful differences continues.
