D&L opens P10-B manufacturing plant in Batangas
D&L Industries Inc., the Lao family’s food ingredients and plastics manufacturing company, opened its P10-billion factory in Batangas province on Monday, five years after the project was started.
The new factory, which sits on a 26-hectare property in the First Industrial Township – Special Economic Zone in Batangas, is currently in its soft-opening phase. It aims to ramp up to full commercial operations over the next two months.
“Today, we celebrate an important milestone. After facing several challenges in the form of a pandemic, strict lockdowns during the construction, and global supply chain bottlenecks, our next generation facility in Batangas has finally started commercial operations,” D&L president and CEO Alvin Lao said in a statement on Monday.
“This marks the beginning of an exciting journey as we venture into new global markets and manufacture higher value added products. Our Batangas plant puts us in a good position as global demand returns,” he added.
D&L said the new manufacturing plant is a critical component of its “next leg of growth”.
