Iconic Golden Bay Restaurant in rejuvenation mode after 14 years of triumph

Chinese cuisine is deeply rooted in heritage and recipes passed through the generations. Dimsums, soups, roasts, and other iconic dishes, have been perfected centuries ago and yet they are still enjoyed to this day. At Golden Bay Restaurant Group, these classic dishes have been served authentically for over 14 years; a magnanimous feat for any brand in the F&B industry. Affixed along the Macapagal Bay Area since 2009, they are entering a new era; and their secret is not to reinvent the wheel but to simply turn it slightly towards a new direction.

Housed in a three-storey building, Golden Bay is one of the largest stand-alone restaurants in the Philippines with numerous exclusive function rooms, a main dining hall, and two banquet halls that can accommodate 1,000 guests. From hosting grand wedding celebrations to intimate get-togethers, the establishment has served it all. With tables always booked and function rooms always full, rejuvenating the restaurant has always been on the back burner—until now.

As its district is due for a financial and cultural boom, management has decided it was time to reinvigorate the Golden Bay dining experience. Inspired by the bustling modern energy around them, the restaurant will be going through this new renaissance with the aim of offering an opulent dining experience for every guest once it is complete.  They credit this rejuvenation as something they owe to their loyal customers as well as fostering a lasting impression on new ones.

While it might seem like the iconic restaurant is going through a total overhaul, the owners are keen on restoring elements that make Golden Bay golden. “We want to embrace the future while keeping with time-honored traditions. It’s a delicate balance to preserve our customs while incorporating a pioneering dining experience.” Jardin Wong, COO of Golden Bay Fresh Landholdings, parent company of Golden Bay Restaurants.

Keeping up with the modern structures in the area, the exterior and interior of the restaurant will be going through a total facelift led by Arch. Albert S. Yu and his team from ASYA Design.

Keeping up with the modern structures in the area, the exterior and interior of the restaurant will be going through a total facelift led by Arch. Albert S. Yu and his team from ASYA Design. The design brief was to turn the dated structure into a destination, an iconic fixture along the busy Macapagal Boulevard. The numerous private rooms and dining halls will also get a modern revamp, transforming into timeless and sophisticated spaces.

Complementing the new look, the Golden Bay menu is also getting a refresh from an established Chef-de Cuisine from Hong Kong. Still serving traditional and modern Chinese courses and customer favorites, the world-class menu will boast of an authentic selection of dishes and desserts guests will surely come back for; be it for a special occasion dinner or a huge milestone celebration.

More than a decade later, Golden Bay ushers in a new era in their long journey ahead. While there are a lot of changes abound, they will be keeping tried-and-tested traditions that have gotten them a permanent spot in the competitive realm of the Philippine F&B industry. Golden Bay has its eyes set to be the mecca for fine dining anchored on Chinese culture and cuisine in the Philippines.
