MANILA, Philippines — Additional September flights from Manila to Dubai were canceled, the Cebu Pacific announced Monday, after the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority slashed this month’s number of passengers for the Dubai-Manila route “due to regulatory restrictions.”
Cebu Pacific said flights 5J 64 (Manila-Dubai) scheduled on September 16-29 and 5J 27 (Dubai -Manila) scheduled on September 15-30 will no longer push through.
“The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has restricted the number of passengers for the Dubai-Manila route for the month of September due to regulatory restriction,” according to its public notice on its website.
Cebu Pacific said passengers affected by the flight cancellations may rebook their travel dates within 60 days at no additional cost. It also said affected passengers have the option to store the cost of their flights in Cebu Pacific’s virtual wallet which they can use to either book a new flight or pay for add-ons. This will be valid for up to two years.
Likewise, the airline firm said passengers may also request a refund but Cebu Pacific reminded them that the process may take up to two months from the date of request.
“This is a developing situation. We will continue updating our guests should there be flight changes in the coming days,” the Gokongwei-led company said.
On September 10, Cebu Pacific canceled its Manila-Dubai flight 5J 26 and Bayanihan Dubai-Manila flight 5J 27.
