As an archipelago, the Philippines faces a persistent challenge to its continuous economic growth — inaccessibility.

With towns and cities wide apart, sustained economic activity has proven to be difficult. While the government’s Build, Build, Build program and other initiatives of local government units have pledged to address this issue, more support is needed to gain significant results.

“To stimulate the economy, we need businesses to invest in a community. And to do that, we need to make the community accessible.”  Alex Abelido, President of Legacy Construction Corporation, said.

A family-run diversified holdings company, Legacy Construction Corporation has helped jumpstart and has supported economic momentum of communities in the Philippines through various partnerships with the government with its road construction services.

“Allowing for mobility, movement of goods, and trade, roads are the bloodline of a community,” Raymond Abelido, Director of Operations for Legacy Construction Corporation, quipped. “It does not only encourage trade activity. It brings people and even entire communities together, allowing them to thrive and grow together.”

With over 20 years of construction expertise, Legacy Construction Corporation has developed quality roads in areas outside the already bustling central business districts. In Romblon alone, one of the company’s flagship projects, the Cross Country Road in Tablas Island, has made it possible for locals and tourists alike to reach all municipalities in the island.

Additionally, the Lubi-Binoog road in the same area has cut travel time from either end of the island from an hour and a half to only thirty minutes.

These roads provided access not just to and from business centers of the island but also encouraged tourism to flourish.

Legacy Construction Corporation has also conducted various road projects such as road widening, excavation and embankment, and bridge repair in key areas in Pampanga, Bacolod, Dumaguete, and Sultan Kudarat.

“To some perhaps a road is just simply pavement we can use to reach our destination, but to us at Legacy Construction Corporation, our road projects that have bridged entire communities together are our constant affirmation of our commitment to help communities thrive alongside us.” Alex said.
