Cozy pieces to spruce up your home

/ 04:18 AM September 12, 2020

Last month, I was one of the panelists in an exciting discussion hosted jointly by the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Property Section and SM Development Corp. (SMDC) titled, “World-Class Design, Future-Proof Living.” Along with globally-renowned architects Michael Fiebrich, Adrian L. Norman, Kunio Iwata and Robert Scott Laird, we all talked about how design and architecture are helping us thrive and remain safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the stringent lockdowns.

In my short talk in this webinar, I gave a few simple and practical tips on how we can transform our living spaces to meet the demands of the new normal and make our homes a perfect fit for today’s multifaceted lifestyle. These include keeping our houses clean, our spaces bright and cheerful. You should also designate work and study stations at home; ensure natural ventilation with the help of indoor plants; regularly disinfect the air you breathe; and infuse the space with good chi and positive vibes.

Create your own urban retreat with Crate & Barrel’s Fayette Bar Cabinet inspired by Parisian Art Deco, Vernet Travertine Cane End Table made of woven rattan and marble and architecturally-inspired Diderot chair.

Reactive glaze washes its dinnerware in a deep shade of blue, a modern mustard hue, a modern shade of pink or a whisper of green. Subtle tonal variations give the collection depth and an artisanal look.

Having the right furniture for your home could help create a warm, cozy vibe.

If you’re looking to spruce up your own space to make it more conducive to your needs, you may want to check out Crate & Barrel, a complete lifestyle store that sells houseware, decor and furniture. It really is the perfect time to give your living spaces or office nooks a makeover with layers of warmth and earth-inspired color, as autumn leaves and roasted chestnuts often come to mind when decorating for the fall season.
