DOT to get P6B to counter loss due to COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on Wednesday said the government will be allotting P6 billion for the implementation of various measures to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 in the tourism sector.
Puyat said the allocation is part of DOT’s “tourism resiliency program” and would be used to boost domestic tourism, develop tourism infrastructure and regional destinations, and increase promotion campaign efforts in so-called emerging markets not affected by the virus.
