Recently, the 293-room Seda Residences Makati officially opened its doors to the public, offering a most ideal location for local and foreign travelers as well as long staying guests, who prefer a residence in a thriving business district like Makati.
This time, however, it’s more than just a hotel.
While Seda Residences Makati is the 10th development under Ayala Land’s homegrown hotel chain, it is, however, the brand’s first serviced apartment. This enables Seda to cater to a broader segment of tourists who are looking for a more authentic experience while staying in another country, and the long staying guests who will feel more at home with a fully furnished and equipped home.
Marc Cerqueda, Seda Residences Makati general manager, explained that as the economy flourishes, the demand for hotel accommodations, even for long stays, is also growing. Add to that a growing trend among today’s travelers who prefer to either soak in some local culture, take the off-the-beaten path, or at least immerse themselves in how the locals live.
“The sense of travel is changing now and it’s all about an authentic experience,” said Cerqueda. “These modern travelers want to experience the local culture, they want to cook in their rooms, experience going to the grocery and buying local produce. The traveler wants to feel that he’s not just passing by in the city but actually living like a local. And this is an experience we can provide them with our kitchens and rooms.”
Of course, there’s that distinct Filipino hospitality for which Seda hotels are known.
Indeed, this 35-storey tower offers the best place to live in Makati whether one is on a business or leisure trip or a staycation given all the modern conveniences it offers. All Seda Residences Makati units—with cuts ranging from a studio to two-bedroom, and sizes, starting from 31 sqm to 108 sqm—come with fully-furnished kitchenettes, dining facilities, HDTV and access to laundry facilities.
“We expect at least 45 percent of our guests to stay long-term including expats doing consultancy work for the multinational firms and BPO offices within Ayala North Exchange. Because we are right next to Makati Medical Center, Seda Residences Makati is also convenient for guests seeking medical procedures such as cosmetic surgery and their families,” Cerqueda further explained.
Strategic location
Located at the northern end of Ayala Avenue, Seda Residences Makati places itself within a proximate distance from offices, embassies, restaurants, weekend markets and cultural offerings of Salcedo and Legazpi Villages but also easily accessible through the Makati walkway system to all the major hotels and the Glorietta and Greenbelt malls on the southern end of Ayala Avenue.
It’s also part of the Ayala North Exchange retail hub which offers a range of food choices, all of which are just an elevator ride and short stroll away from the residences.
From the lobby located on the 19th floor, guests are immediately greeted by the sight of Seda’s swimming pool and a stunning cityscape. This floor presents a resort feel contrasted with views of Makati’s high-rise office towers.
“We are high enough to make guests feel detached from the intense activity at street level but low enough for you to feel you are within easy reach of restaurants, banking and other services,” Cerqueda added.
