IP E-Games, Dutch gaming firm ink deal

Listed IP E-Games Ventures Inc. bagged the rights to distribute hit video games such as StarCraft and World of Warcraft, which are among the most popular titles in the world.

In a disclosure, IP E-Games said it had signed on Tuesday a license distribution agreement with Dutch gaming firm Blizzard Entertainment International.

The deal gave IP E-Games the exclusive right to market, sell and distribute Blizzard’s boxed license products in the Philippines.

Blizzard, a division of  Cooperatie Activision Blizzard International U.A. based in the Netherlands, is the developer of several popular video game software products such as the World of Warcraft, Warcraft I, II and III, StarCraft I and II and Diablo I, II and Diablo III.

The deal with Blizzard gives IP E-Games its most popular video game titles to date. StarCraft II, launched last year, was the fastest-selling video game of all time.

IP E-Games has been on an aggressive expansion path since the start of the year. It conducted a stock rights offering in February, which raised P134 million. It also sold its data center unit to sister firm IP Converge Data Center Corp. for P120 million.
