Going Uptown with Ethan Allen

The Andover upholstered four-poster bed

Known for pieces that bring sophistication and luxury to one’s home, Ethan Allen recently launched Uptown, a new collection curated by interior designer Cynthia Almario of Atelier Almario.

This latest collection features pieces that promise to bring not only comfort to one’s home, but also quality craftsmanship and high living.

The chic fabrics and sophisticated finishes give a dramatic yet elegant look. The beauty of this collection is in the details, from the hand-tailored upholstery to the artisan-crafted decorative accents.

Almario described the pieces as livable luxury, in which people can invest in good quality furnishings that are timeless and fit for different type of spaces.

“Even smaller spaces such as condominiums can have the accents from the Uptown collection, from which homeowners can (choose) certain key pieces without taking up too much space, such as the night stands and the TV stands,” Almario explained.

For a bigger home, one can play around with the bulkier pieces such as the Anderson Tuxedo sofa or the nice Andover upholstered four-poster bed, she further advised.

The Shelton Sofa gives that relaxed glamour feel, with classic diamond tufting and perfect curves.

Ethan Allen lets its clients customize their purchased pieces as well—something that Almario appreciates.

“Imagine 144 finishes, from weathered oak to walnut, to different kinds and shades of fabric, to different kinds of details such as studs that can be in nickel or chrome. I like the fact that they can give clients what they want and what they value, and this makes everything bespoke and artisanal,” she said.

The brand also introduces its augmented reality app, Ethan Allen in Home, which allows you to design your space with just a few taps on your smartphone. Aside from the app, Ethan Allen remains competitive by using Performance and High-Performance fabrics which protect your upholstery piece from spills and stains while the latter is an odor-resistant fabric.
