Ford Motor Company Philippines Inc. sold more than 3,000 vehicles in May this year, registering its “best-ever” single-month performance, the company said.

The company sold 3,036 vehicles last month, up 4 percent year-ago level, led by strong demand for its Everest, Ranger and EcoSport units. Ford, however, did not provide figures on its performance in the first five months of the year.

“Our most popular nameplates—Everest, Ranger, and EcoSport—are continuing to drive our overall sales and helping us stay on track for another record year,” said company managing director Lance Mosley in a statement.

Upon checking the joint data of Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), it would show that Ford sales had been sliding from January to April, down 5.8 percent to 10,386 sales this year from 11,028 units previously.

While a representative of Ford Philippines could not be reached for additional data, adding May’s sales would show a slower decline of 4 percent to 13,422 units this year from 13,961 units last year.
