No, it’s not your typical café. In fact, it’s not a coffee shop at all.

Brian’s Hair Café, located at the second floor of Il Centro at the Sta. Lucia Mall in Cainta, instead offers authentic Korean hair styles that are perfect for today’s K-pop fans.

Ellen Kim, a senior stylist at Brian’s Hair Café, explained in an interview that the initial plan was to set up a coffee shop along with the salon when they started the business four years ago. But that plan got shelved eventually as they got too busy accommodating the strong demand for their services.

They decided, however, to retain the name of the salon.

And because of this demand, Brian’s Hair Café then opened a second branch at the Sta. Lucia Mall about a year ago. This proved to be a strategic move for the salon owners given the mall’s strong traffic count of roughly 1.6 million a month.

“We observed the mall first. We studied the traffic and we knew then that we wanted to put up a branch here. And now, we continue to have a lot of customers at our Sta. Lucia branch,” Kim said.

“I think this is because we offer affordable Korean style, products and concepts. Our senior stylist, to whom the salon was named after, is Korean. He, along with the rest of us who are stylists, had been trained in Korea as well,” said Kim, who is also a Korean national.

According to Kim, their customers are so far happy with their services that are reflective of an authentic Korean style.

“We are happy that we have put up a branch at Sta. Lucia Mall. We are now enjoying a good demand and we hope it will continue,” Kim added.
