FLI opening malls in Cebu, Laguna

Gotianun-led Filinvest Land Inc. is set to open to the public new shopping malls in Cebu and Laguna and expand its flagship mall in Alabang in 2015.

In a statement, FLI said its wholly owned shopping mall arm, Festival Supermalls Inc., would have 328,756 square meters of gross floor area in Festival Supermall upon the completion of the expansion program this year.

Festival Supermall is one of the top 25 largest malls in Asia and one of the top five in the Philippines. It was recently named one of the “Top 50 Coolest Malls in the World” by Complex.com, a multimedia consumer portal for lifestyle and consumer trends.

This year, FLI will also start operating Il Corso, seen to be one of the most unique lifestyle, retail and dining strips in Cebu as well as Brentville’s Village Front, the community commercial area of Brentville International in Laguna, FLI senior vice president for commercial center and retail management Joy Polloso said in the statement.

These developments will increase the company’s gross leasable area by 58 percent to 219,195 square meters. Doris C. Dumlao
