Philips iDose4 Premium package is a revolutionary radiation dose reduction solution for CT scanners without compromising image quality and  is capable of ensuring enhanced patient safety.

Philips recently installed its powerful iterative reconstruction technology, iDose4 Premium package, at the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC).  Since lowering radiation dose has become a concern for healthcare professionals, the new application has been engineered to help lessen radiation level in CT scan procedures.

Used in combination with the advanced technologies of the Philips Premium CT scanner, this technology provides a unique approach to managing important factors in patient care—low energy, low dose, and low injected contrast imaging without compromising image quality.

“Radiation Dose reduction has always been a commitment of SLMC,” said Dr. Nelson Pasia, head of SLMC-Global City’s CT scan section. Staying true to the mantra of the hospital in serving patients with utmost excellence, Dr. Pasia goes on to say that, “all the CT scan procedures conducted at SLMC Global City are appropriately justified—that all strategies needed to reduce radiation dose will be utilized in their medical equipment.”

The majority of hospitals have an opportunity to apply iDose4 Premium, during head, whole body, chest and  abdomen CT scans. iDose4 Premium is also applicable during special procedures like CT cardiac angiography, and pulmonary angiography. The biggest impact of iDose4 Premium is in pediatric CT scans where it is ensures the safest dose protocols without compromising image quality and clinical information.

According to Dr. Pasia, the iDose4 Premium solution is a specialized tool installed on Philips CT scanners that provide an improved spatial resolution and image quality attained at lowering radiation dose. iDose4 reconstruction is achieved in seconds rather than minutes. The majority of reference protocols are reconstructed in 60 seconds or less.
