PGH-ER limits admissions starting tomorrow

/ 09:03 PM August 26, 2011

The Philippine General Hospital will limit its Emergency Room consultations and admissions every Sunday starting Aug. 28 to give way to the weekly general cleaning to prevent the spread of infections to its beyond bed capacity patients at the ER.

Only life-threatening and trauma patients will be seen every Sunday at the emergency room. This includes patients on respirators, heart attack, acute stroke and victims of trauma. Other patients are advised to seek consultations in other hospitals for their medical needs.

The PGH wants to render quality service and improve its medical care provision to its numerous patients every day. It hopes for the public’s understanding and cooperation.
