MANILA, Philippines--Budget carrier Cebu Pacific Air said it would open a hub at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) in the Clark Special Economic Zone, north of Manila, in November.

The airline, a unit of the publicly listed conglomerate JG Summit Holdings, is aiming for a passenger volume of seven million this year.

Cebu Pacific president and CEO Lance Gokongwei said an Airbus A319 would operate four times weekly from Clark to Macau and thrice weekly to Bangkok.

Cebu Pacific will also operate Cebu-Clark flights daily starting Oct. 1 using the smaller ATR 72-500 aircraft.

The new international services are to be introduced with a zero-fare promo. Passengers will pay only the applicable taxes and surcharges, which are nonrefundable. The seat sale will run Sept. 4-10, for travel from Nov. 8 to Dec. 17.

More than 10,000 seats have been allocated for the Clark hub sale.

After the seat sale, the lowest year round “Go” fare for Clark flights start at P499 to Macau, P999 to Singapore, P1,499 to Hong Kong and P1,999 to Bangkok. With editing by INQUIRER.net
