Tokyo stocks up 0.42 percent in morning trade

TOKYO–Tokyo stocks rose 0.42 percent Friday morning, propped up by a weaker yen and better-than-expected US economic data.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 37.36 points at 8,861.95 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares firmed 0.22 percent, or 1.59 points, to 736.97.
