Philippine Airlines hiring cabin crews

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines has unveiled a new hiring program for new cabin crew through a two-day recruitment fair on August 11 and 12.

In a statement, the country’s largest airline by revenue said the activity would allow more aspirants for PAL cabin crew positions to apply for the jobs.

The Luzon leg of the recruitment fair will be held at the Diamond Hotel on Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

Applicants who meet the minimum requirements for PAL cabin crew members are invited to participate, the airline said.

PAL will also hold recruitments in the Visayas and Mindanao in the coming months for aspiring cabin crew members from those regions.

The airline said applicants should bring their resumé, along with closeup and fullbody photos.

Applicants must be Filipino citizens, not more than 27 years old, and college graduates. Females must be single and at least 5’3″ in height; males must be preferably single and at least 5’6″ in height.

Women applicants should come in a corporate blazer, inner blouse, knee-length skirt and high-heel closed shoes. Their hair must be tied in a bun and they must be in full makeup.

Male applicants should come in long-sleeve shirts with necktie, black slacks and leather shoes.

The fair is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Diamond Hotel, Roxas Boulevard corner Dr. J. Quintos St. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m.

do i see a discriminatory hiring process here?…..if they don’t have the means to buy the prescribed clothings, how can one apply even if that person has all the qualities to become a flight attendant?…..mangutang???…we are so unfair to the applicants when it comes to job hiring….is it any wonder why people go OFW?….it’s been like this way before….example: a simple secretarial job…the ad?…applicant must be single, no more than 22 years of age, good personality, and of course the so many words of typing per minute and steno….(the last two being mandatory)…we really have never learned from other asian nations, or other foreign nations for that matter….it is the know-how of the applicant that is needed….not the one that agrees to be grappled…..hayok pa rin sa spring chicken na laman….hehehe…ganun pa rin tayo (karamihan)….

Is it not ironic that a few months ago, PAL was firing personnel. Now it is hiring new ones. Cannot the government see the injustice here. Is “FIRE AND HIRE” legal? Is it moral?
