MANILA, Philippines — Oil firms Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines, Inc. have announced they will decrease pump prices for certain products starting 12:01 a.m. Tuesday (May 22) to reflect “movements” in the international oil market.

Pump prices at Petron stations will be rolled back for Blaze 100, XCS Plus, Xtra, Pinoy Gasoline, and regular gasoline by P0.65 per liter; kerosene by P0.40 per liter; and Turbo Diesel and DieselMax by P0.30 per liter.

Shell shaved off P0.60 per liter from Shell FuelSave Unleaded, Shell Super Premium, and Vpower gasoline; P0.30 per liter off Shell Diesoline and Vpower Diesel; P0.40 off Kerosene; and P0.65 off regular gasoline.

Meanwhile, Seaoil will reduce the prices of its premium, unleaded, and regular gasoline by P0.65 per liter, diesel by P0.30 per liter, and kerosene by P0.40 per liter.

    still useless. i have resolved that unless the price drops to less than P50 a liter, i’ll just ride the public transportation. independent accounts have them overpricing by as much as P6.

    this series of rollbacks has been because they’ve been hurting because demand has really slowed down because of their price gouging. consumers really tightened their belts when oil hit P60. and once consumers realized they can live with just taking public transportation, demand really hasn’t picked back up even when they cut down prices slowly. it’ll take more than just a few cents of rollback to stimulate demand again.

    i can live with P40 per liter. but over that, i’ll use public transpo.

      driving SUV round trip to office from home = 100 pesos

      using public transport (aircon bus) = 24 pesos

      Savings = 76 x 22 days/month =   1,672 pesos!

    • http://jaoromero.com/ Jao Romero

      it’s called greed exactly because it isn’t minimized.
