/ 05:12 AM September 02, 2017

Cebu Pacific Air, the country’s largest budget carrier, is increasing flights to several international destinations as it anticipates strong demand through the peak Christmas holiday season.

Cebu Pacific said in a statement it would add frequencies in Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia starting the fourth quarter of 2017 until the first quarter of 2018.

“We constantly review our route network and frequencies to respond to changing market needs and operational requirements,” Cebu Pacific spokesperson Paterno Mantaring Jr. said in a statement.

“Depending on seasonal factors, we make flight schedule changes as necessary, while keeping in mind the bookings of our passengers, many of whom book flights way in advance,” he added.

The budget airline, a unit of Gokongwei-led JG Summit Holdings, added it was seeking slots in Haneda Airport, which is closer to Tokyo’s city center. —MIGUEL R. CAMUS
