Bringing people closer to home

It was nonetheless a show of force, a friendly competition, and about a common desire to achieve a worthy goal.

The recently concluded Housing Expo staged by the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) saw the country’s most respected and esteemed home providers coming together to rally for a noble cause, that which to provide a decent shelter to every deserving Filipino.

Now on its fourth year, the SHDA Housing Expo came on the heels of the property sector’s success, which is now on the spotlight for being one of the major contributors to the country’s robust economic growth. The event provided the perfect venue for developers to further showcase their strength, put on display their latest developments, and provide the public with the best housing deals.

“This is a great boon for prospective homeowners who are currently searching for the best deals in their ideal home or condominium locations. Aside from bringing together SHDA’s top member-developers for the expo, we also encouraged them to offer ‘limited edition’ promotions and deals for those who make the effort to join us four-day event,” explained SHDA president Christopher Narciso.

Obligation

Through the Housing Expo, SHDA members are able to fulfill what they deemed to be as their “obligation” as developers, which is to create a better and a secure future for the Filipinos by offering them access to high quality yet affordable homes.

“The Philippines currently has a housing backlog of 5.5 million units which continues to grow. Given that investing in your own home is a Filipino family’s No. 1 priority, SHDA is doing its part to provide more affordable housing options to the buying public. This expo is in line with pursuing the objectives of our Housing Roadmap and also addressing the outputs of the recently held Housing Summit,” Narciso said.

SHDA is currently working on bringing to reality the objectives of the Housing Roadmap, as it believes that decent shelter is potent in nation building, and in sustaining the country’s strong economic growth.

And this is something that the group is hoping to achieve through the active participation of its members—with each expected to implement their own initiatives to efficiently address the housing backlog.
