Ford PH sales up 61% at end-July

Ford Philippines sold a total of 19,517 units from January to July this year, a growth of 61 percent year-on-year, bolstered mainly by its three best-selling sports utility vehicle (SUV) nameplates EcoSport, Ranger and Everest.

Sales also jumped 61 percent in July to 2,748 units, enabling the firm to remain  one of the fastest growing automotive brands in the Philippines this year.

“Our big three Ford nameplates continue to drive record sales this year, attracting customers across the country who appreciate the value, quality and safety that our global Ford vehicles deliver,” said Ford Philippines managing director Lance Mosley.

The automotive firm said the EcoSport compact SUV remained one of the company’s top-selling models in the Philippines with July sales increasing 4 percent to 866 units, reportedly its best month so far this year.

Sales of the Ford Everest, the American giant’s cash cow for a long time now, reached 945 units in July, boosting total sales in the first seven months to 7,906 units. Ford introduced an all-new Everest this year, which it claimed to have “exceptional ride quality, dynamic handling and host of advanced technologies that offer safety, connectivity and convenience.”

Sales for the Ranger pickup in July rose 26 percent year-on-year to 700 units, boosting total sales for this model to 4,672 units from January to July this year. The Ranger’s full lineup of 13 variants in the country provided a wide array of customer choices to match a wide-range of lifestyles, the Philippine distributor said.
