CONSUMER technology firm Xurpas Inc. has teamed up with the production outfit of variety show Eat Bulaga to create the official mobile game for the phenomenal “Aldub” Kalyeserye.

Xurpas has signed a deal with TAPE Inc., producer of long-time noontime variety show Eat Bulaga, to create the official mobile game for today’s hottest loveteam Alden Richards and Yaya Dub or popularly referred to as “Aldub.”

“Fans fantasize about Alden and Yaya Dub. Now you can be Alden… through the mobile game,” said Jenny Ferre, senior vice president of TAPE Inc.

The game is integrated into Eat Bulaga’s top-rating kalyeserye. “The game is part of the story,” she added.

“We’re absolutely excited to work with a property as massive as AlDub,” said Nix Nolledo, chair and chief executive officer of Xurpas, now one of the largest listed consumer technology companies in Southeast Asia.

As of Friday’s close, Xurpas was valued by the stock market at P25.6 billion.

AlDub looks to set a new record in the mobile games space with the launch of “AldubYou: Ang Hamon ni Lola Nidora” which will soon be available for download on Google Play.

Nolledo said the price of the game had yet to be finalized but said it would likely be at par with Xurpas’ earlier games at P5 for a 24-hour access.

While the app will be made available to users of Android smartphones first, Nolledo said the game might also be offered to Apple’s iPhone users in the future.

Aldub has gained a strong following not just among the masses but also among the upper-middle and high-end audience.

This segment of Eat Bulaga has become a global phenomenon, breaking new records on Twitter. On Oct. 24, it set the world record of garnering 41 million tweets in a single day.

“AldubYou is just the start of the rich portfolio of digital content we will be building for AlDub,” Nolledo said.
