Festival Supermall embarks on massive ground expansion
Festival Supermall, a premier development in Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, recently completed the initial phase of its upgrading and rebranding efforts that began in 2013.
Called the River Park, the initial phase of Festival Supermall’s grand expansion is part of the mall’s four-level expansion to keep up with the current growth in the country’s retail industry.
“River Park is the first part of Festival Supermall’s strategic move to strengthen its offerings and maximize the potential market in the south. In the last quarter of 2015, we will see the completion of the four-level mall expansion featuring foreign fashion brands. This will definitely concretize our commitment to bring in better brands for our shoppers,” declares Joy Polloso, senior vice president of Filinvest Commercial Centers.
Polloso adds that the mall’s upgrading and increased gross land area (GLA) is part of Filinvest Land’s renewed thrust for expansion of its retail components.
“Last year, we started on identifying the areas where we could expand outside of Filinvest City and have plotted build-up of retail developments in the next five years in Luzon and presence to as far as Cebu,” States Polloso.
River Park offers 11 unique dining concepts – from coffee shops to casual dining and post dinner options in an al fresco setting. Where malls are most often in a block of hard scape buildings, this new development of Festival Supermall connects the shoppers with nature. Anchoring on the natural river and enhancing the ambiance with fresh and green landscaping, River Park brings in a whole new dimension of mall experience and dining.
Whether on bike or in rubber shoes, one can go around using the bike/jogging paths criss-crossing around the development. While the evening ambiance is perfect for a romantic date, it is also a place where kids can frolic on the grass on a family’s day out. And may it be for a power lunch, a meeting or after-work de-stressing, from an early morning breakfast to late night chitchat with pals, the dining choices and atmosphere in River Park will provide the fitting venue for these activities.
“River Park will add a new dimension in dining. It boasts of not just a lush natural park, but also 1.5 kilometers of live creek surrounding the entire mall,” states George Domingo, assistant vice president for business development-commercial centers of Filinvest Land Inc. “Imagine dining with such a gorgeous natural ambience!”
Currently open in River Park now is Market Basket whose concept is a modern-day dampa. Also set to open soon are exciting dining establishments such as Starbucks, Bizu Patisserie, Asahikawa Bangaichi Ramen, Mati’s Meat and Bread, Hog’s Breath Cafe, Chef’s Barrel and Mug, Planet Grapes, SF Bistro and a yet to be named lounge concept.
“Featuring an outdoor ampitheatre, River Park will soon be the ‘IT’ place for shows, concerts and events. We have laid out an exciting array of activities that will complete the multidimensional shopping experience of our customers,” says Rose Nuqui, vice president & group head for marketing and exhibits.
Festival Supermall is the only mall with five anchor stores: Shopwise Supercenter, SaveMore, Robinsons Department Store, Ace Hardware and Handyman. It has over 700 shops, a total of 2,300 multilevel parking slots, various food outlets, and indoor amusement rides.
