DOF, Unilever eye green manufacturing investments

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Finance (DOF) is seeking new investments from Unilever to expand the country’s green manufacturing initiatives.

In a statement on Tuesday, the DOF said Finance Secretary Frederick Go and Unilever officials recently met and discussed potential new investments in the country.

“These potential investments will help promote green manufacturing, create more jobs, enhance workforce skills, and develop community programs,” the statement read.

For its part, Unilever is considering strengthening its production facilities in the Philippines.

Likewise, the meeting comes as the government seeks more foreign investments through business-friendly reforms.
