Diesel poised for price cuts next week despite renewed ME war

Fuel prices are expected to decline by as much as P10 per liter next week after a series of increases in recent weeks, partly driven by optimism over possible progress in peace negotiations between the United States and Iran.

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists may see mixed price adjustments next week, with diesel set for a rollback even with the renewed hostilities in the Middle East.

According to estimates from an industry source, diesel may have price cuts ranging from P3.50 to P4 per liter on June 16.

Gasoline, meanwhile, may increase by 50 centavos to P1 per liter.

The figures are based on this week’s trading sessions over the Mean of Platts Singapore, and foreign exchange movements.
