Daiichi Properties clinches triple LEED O+M Platinum and Gold Certifications for BGC Portfolio
Daiichi Properties sets a new benchmark for sustainable office developments in the Philippines after three of its Bonifacio Global City properties earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Operations and Maintenance (O+M) certifications, including the country’s first-ever LEED O+M Platinum recognition for an office building.
This milestone marks a defining moment for the Philippine office sector, highlighting a growing shift toward operational sustainability and globally aligned building performance standards.
Leading this achievement is The Finance Centre on 26th Street, which was awarded LEED O+M Platinum, becoming the first office building in the Philippines — and only the second in Southeast Asia — to attain the highest certification level under the rating system. The recognition places the development among a select group of high-performing buildings in the region and reflects Daiichi Properties’ long-term commitment to creating workplaces that are efficient, people-centered, and environmentally responsible.
The recognition forms part of a broader sustainability push across Daiichi Properties’ office portfolio. Alongside The Finance Centre, World Plaza on 5th Avenue also achieved LEED O+M Platinum, making it the second office building in the Philippines to reach this distinction. Meanwhile, One World Place on 32nd Street earned LEED O+M Gold, upgrading from its previous LEED Core and Shell Silver certification through continued improvements in operational performance and building management.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED is one of the world’s most widely recognized frameworks for sustainable buildings. Its Operations and Maintenance (O+M) certification focuses on how buildings perform in day-to-day operations, from energy and water efficiency to indoor environmental quality and occupant experience, ensuring that sustainability is reflected not only in design, but in how spaces are actively managed over time. Certifications are administered by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) through third-party verification aligned with global standards.
For Daiichi Properties, the achievement reflects the evolving role of office buildings today, where sustainability is experienced daily by tenants through healthier, more efficient, and better-managed workplaces. Beyond design, the certifications highlight how operational excellence can directly support comfort, well-being, and long-term environmental impact.
“This milestone is especially meaningful for us because it reflects the care and intention we put into our buildings every single day, not only in how they are designed, but in how people experience them,” said Charmaine C. Uy, President and COO of Daiichi Properties. “Becoming the first office building in the Philippines to achieve LEED O+M Platinum is an honor we share with our tenants, partners, and teams who have been part of this journey. More importantly, it strengthens our commitment to continuously create workplaces that support well-being, sustainability, and the evolving needs of the communities we serve.”
“These certifications underscore Daiichi Properties’ leadership in advancing existing buildings excellence through LEED v4.1 O+M performance in the region. LEED Platinum certification reflects disciplined operations, strong management practices, and sustained environmental impact,” said Mr. Gopalakrishnan P, Managing Director, GBCI.
The certifications represent another step in Daiichi Properties’ long-term sustainability journey, anchored on creating future-ready workplaces that balance operational excellence with environmental responsibility. As demand continues to grow for healthier and more sustainable office environments, the company remains focused on raising standards across its portfolio and contributing to the continued advancement of green building practices in the Philippines.
